Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Velaro’s compliance strategy, anticipating and adapting to evolving regulatory trends.
• Oversee the implementation of KYC, KYB, and AML policies, leveraging technology to optimize compliance processes.
• Monitor and update internal policies in response to changes in regulations related to stablecoins, asset tokenization, and blockchain, with a focus on Latin America, Asia, and the United States.
• Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and legal advisors, leading discussions on licensing and new regulatory developments.
• Manage regulatory audits and represent Velaro in interactions with regulators to foster trust and transparency.
• Deliver compliance training and provide guidance across all teams.
• Lead the selection and implementation of RegTech tools to ensure effective transaction monitoring and accurate regulatory reporting.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of compliance experience, including 3–5 years specifically in crypto assets, stablecoins, asset tokenization, or blockchain.
• Strong knowledge of global regulations related to stablecoins, digital assets, and tokenization (e.g., FATF Travel Rule, MiCA, and regulations from the Central Bank of Brazil).
• Proven ability to manage compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions, including experience obtaining and maintaining regulatory licenses.
• Expertise in building and executing risk-based compliance management systems with a focus on automation and real-time reporting.
• Senior-level compliance certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) are required; certifications in cybersecurity or data privacy are a strong plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex compliance matters and influence strategic decisions.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English; proficiency in Spanish and Mandarin is a plus.
